setsuna : sara...? [how... there are so many saras... it's playing like a screen... so many reflections...!!]
arakune (evilly) : [now!] (about to push)
noise (trying to get setsuna to snap out of it) : don't, messiah! those are the illusions of Lethe! don't let yourself be drawn in!!
(pulls setsuna away as he's about to reach for the water already...)
noise : messiah!
(just coincidentally also misses arakune's blow narrowly)
setsuna (getting up, his head's cleared now) : arakune!!?
arakune : fuck...
setsuna : what's wrong with you, arakune!! (but arakune just has a hard, cold expression)
beast (I still completely forgot about him) : ahahahahahah, oh foolish messiah, you came so carelessly without even noticing that you have already walked into a trap. you didn't even know that the traitor was by your side!

(BANG, his sword cuts into the wall that raphael's leaning on, missing his head by a centimeter)

michael (with a really funny face, giving raphael a mischievously twisted smile) : ...now why don't you explain that in a way so that even a moron like me with understand?

(basically some time later, after he's done explaining I guess, cuz they're not sitting in the ruins anymore but in a nice office, assumed to still be raphael's place...)
michael : oh... so the spirit girl who stopped the messiah from going berserk!
sara : ...then you are that red hair angel from that time...? I can't tell with your voice.
michael (realize) : your eyes are... (with a funny annoyed look) but as for jibrille of the elements, I totally forgot about her already. (raphie-kun just took a fall) but I really don't think that righteous woman would be blabbing to me like you did. so things really have gotten quite complicated. (suddenly realize something else) wait a sec!! why the hell did the messiah's sister's spirit enter into jibrille's body, EHH!?
raphael : you're probably wrong. I believe she is jibrille to begin with. -----------yes, alexiel's spirit has also passed though reincarnation many times, a spying guardian angel was probably assigned to keep the process according to the rebirth program. that usually should've been the job of the lowest angels but... in a few generations before "mudou setsuna", nanatsusaya disrupted the program and killed the guardian angel. at that time, jibrille was strongly against sevi's harsh legislation. --------from here on is my assumption... sevi came up with a dangerous but efficient plan. he created a guardian angel that neither angel nor demon could detect, and in the meantime it would keep jibrille silenced...! he had jibrille reincarnated into a human as the guardian angel; as mudou setsuna's closest blood... in short, his sister.

astarte (laugh) : my, but it has been many, many long years since the demon lord's fall, and it's typical that he would've had to change many wives.

astarte : it was all belial... the mad hatter brings girls from who knows where. that man really is crazy... the mad hatter have the girls he adore unite with his most beloved demon lord in order to fulfill his own unsatisfied desire. really what a cruel man he is... so you really don't know anything at all? not even of the abaddon-sama who's imprisoned under here?

(and she only sees a figure of a person... kinda shaded like back then when astaroth was talking to abaddon... the figure turns around and glares at her angrily, his eyes look really menacing and cold... and I suppose in that moment he attacked kurai already but kurai had tied setsuna's earring with her hair ribbon and its power formed a circle of light around kurai and protected her)
kurai (fainting) : [her brother... is her twin brother-----------!!]
(though not hurt, she is now unconscious. and we finally get a good look at astaroth, he looks exactly like astarte, only with a white snake around his neck and he's wearing the same cloth, but his body is male... astarte's body is most definitely female for those of you who knows about these two already...)
astaroth : what was... that light...!! the desire to "protect"... but it didn't belong to an angel... is that the reason why she survived after seeing "abaddon"--------- (looking at kurai with interest) it's worth looking in to, I'm bored anyway.

yukie's note : notion #1 about previous few volumes... I've definitely gotten more fluent in the translation because I'm use to writing it now however the language has also gotten sloppy >.< meaning that I find all these sentences that don't make sense these days if I read back... also depending on the mood I was in at the time, the dialogue could get really literal (which sounds bad) or really not literal (which sounds good but is not what they are saying, technically... but expresses the meaning) I find that so weird... if I have time, I'll go back and correct mistakes/edit, right now... I'll change whatever I find constantly... meanwhile that being aside...
*heart, heart* the soul of the Jahannam arc is here ^^ my all time favorite volumes 10-11... also the turning point in the story... basically half way... after this... the rest of the story, basically 12-20, almost half the story is Shikouten

abaddon : [it's him... he's laughing...!! mama... did he capture mama...!? I... I have to help mama...!! (look at his chains) these chains... if I could only bite them off...!!]

(someone... who looks amazingly like setsuna from the outline... lands on assiah with a black crow)
mysterious person : ...hahah...
(a group of angels are surveying the city)
angel 1 : kamael-sama ordered us to come here and erase all signs of the boss's outburst but... this is damn amazing... to actually witness this...!! everything that was destroyed is slowly returning to normal... time has returned to when it was frozen...!! so this is the legendary time magic of adam kadmon. I must report this to kamael-sama quickly... (hears screaming behind him, turn around alarmed) eh!? (point to the mysterious guy who just took out all his companions) what the hell are you, which angel order do you belong to!? show me your rank badge!
mysterious guy : show you...? well... (start taking off his cloak) my identification...
(meanwhile... poor setsuna is lost in a maze with noise... those typical european garden ones)
noise : damn...! no good!! (look at a x mark on the wall) we just made this mark before! we're still at the same place!! see!? haven't we been circling around the same place!?
setsuna : a labyrinth...! it's actually much further than it seemed from above, (meaning when they saw the palace they were on higher grounds, but the palace is at the center of this labyrinth) we have been walking in the direction of the palace... (look around them) and we are totally lost...
noise (doesn't give up) : t... that just can't be! there has to be an exit somewhere...! (she startled some birds who flew up, and they startled her in turn) AHHH! (then a look of horror) !
(they see a few skeletons lying around the side of the path...)
setsuna (also a pretty sick look) : and... this is what happens to the people who are lost in the labyrinth...! [well... what should I do...!! no matter whether I turn left or right, the crazy space will only bring us back in circles... I can't go forwards, backwards, right or left...] so the only thing that's left is...
(just then one of the demon birds that flew up before suddenly crash into some sort of invisible barrier above... and falls down totally smashed *EWWWW*)
setsuna (scratch his head totally out of ideas) : to get out from above... but... that doesn't seem to work either, right, noise-chan.
noise (looks horrified -.-) : ......!
(the mad hatter is sitting in her room calmly looking at a miniature maze model in front of her...)
mad hatter : now... even the princess has disappeared... and I wonder how long the "suicide woods" would be able to trap the messiah... if you hadn't failed at the river of lethe, things would be looking much better...
arakune (looking regretful) : please forgive me...
mad hatter : have you forgotten...? back then, who saved you? the loyalty of blood that you swore to the demon lord...!

setsuna (shock) : wha...!? something's coming!? (and out of the ground pops out a gigantic 3 headed horse monster) WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!? (in the upper hell - anagura, kira seems to feel their danger too) run for it, noise!!
text : it's useless. all the space here are looped forever, no matter where you run to it's the same.
setsuna : ...? then what should I do!?
text : think. if the space right, left and above are all closed... then...
setsuna : I SEE!! (suddenly stops running and races the horse)
noise : MESSIAH!? what are you doing! you wanna die!?
setsuna : DOWN!!! (and he plunges the sword nanatsusaya down into the earth)
(in an instant... nanatsusaya suddenly transformed... it turned from the crystal clear sword to this black, hellish looking blade... *I think the author got sick of drawing it*)
text : BREAK THE EARTH!!! (from where nanatsusaya broke the earth, a dark gooey stuff start to gush out)
noise (shock) : [from where the earth split, came... blood!!?]
(the blood completely covers the horse who struggles in vain and then gels up into solid. finally it turns back into a chess piece and vanishes...)
setsuna (after a series of shock, panting) : [the sword... nanatsusaya... transformed...!! and that voice in my head before...! it definitely said "break the earth"... that was... senpai's voice...!!] (looks at his sword in shock...)
noise (goes up and feel the solid blood) : messiah... this... thing that came out of the earth looks like blood... and it froze in an instant and killed that thing...! what is it... it seems to be alive... with a pulse...!
(mad hatter's huge face suddenly appears in the sky... as if she's looking down at her little miniature model)
mad hatter : that was... checkmate.
setsuna & noise (look up simultaneously) : !
mad hatter : of course it was pointless to oppose you from the start when you have that sword. do you know why he can synchronize with this earth? he is invincible here...! I give up on the furi-katakana >.< but this is what the kanji says) and the cruel girl in her elegance, the iron virgin...
(don't worry, the person being tortured is not kurai >.<)
astaroth (sitting on his throne... really bored) : what, she's dead already? don't bore me... (licking something off his finger that looks like wine or blood ^^;;) I want to see even more blood.
(and now that he has turned his attention to kurai...)
servant : --------astaroth-sama... this princess...
astaroth : ...hn... she's from the evil royalty, the long life span creatures of a different species than the demons... she's still young, probably only 10 ~ 13 years old if you count in terms of humans...
(kurai's awake now and staring at astaroth with wide eyes)
kurai (notices the white snake) : [a white serpent...? and astarte had a black serpent... this is the duke of fear astaroth...? kurai (surprise) : [of "darkness"...? but this was a token I stole from setsuna's body... yet it was not "light" but the desire of "darkness"...?] (suddenly the place is full of the strange echo again...) ! there it is again!! (look around) there was the same echo when I fell down here...! and it sounds like it's getting worse!
astaroth (calmly... he seems calm about everything except his sister ~.~) : that is... our lord's wrath... ...my lord lucifer is saying give him the bride. no matter where you go you cannot run from our lord. because we are inside his stomach. (that sounds kinda weird... but you will see...) so he thinks he can control us now that we escaped from god's power... then... I'll show him. (pins kurai down)
kurai : !
astaroth : to have the eligibility of becoming a holy bride taken from her by his own servant... if I send your innocent limbs and broken head back to belial, what kind of face would she have? (pinning her down with a really crazy look on his face and in a position that suggests he plans to rape her or something...) I don't have to go into explaining just how shocked kurai is right now... ~.~ yes they are twins... and they look exactly alike... because it IS the same face...)

(in heaven... sara is just about to break down)
sara : it can't be... what are you saying...? that... before I was born I was an angel named jibrille... and then... was reincarnated into a human!? (michael looks at her without much expression) then that means... I was spying on onii-chan all this time without realizing it... isn't that just like constantly deceiving him...! yukie's note : hm... my icons just died in unison... perhaps that's a sign I should reboot... anyway... it's quite obvious that my favorite people in the whole story are demons... and... kurai was right when she said "perhaps demons have reason to be demons" (I don't think she said this YET ^^;;;). even she pities them... though they tricked her, lied to her, and tried to kill her. I love the demons because they are messed up... but still can always find at least one good thing about them... for the conclusion of this little side story with astaroth and astarte, see the part 3... featuring Astaroth on the cover in a very cool looking black shirt... ^^

Act IV : The Empire of Hell --Monarchie in fernale--, Part 3
everyone (shock) : [the messiah's on earth...?]
raphael : how can that be...!
guy : actually... we were secretly given orders by kamael-sama to go to earth... and there we were attacked by a mysterious guy... and...!!
(refers back to earth... after that mysterious setsuna look alike took out most of the angels... yes his face looks exactly like setsuna, all but his expressions)
mysterious guy (smirk) : this is my proof. take this to hell with you as a souvenir, bro. (and he had three wings coming out of his back...)
angel (the guy who's talking to michael right now) : [the mark of the messiah...! the third wing...!?] (shock)
(the crow/raven that came with the set-chan look alike suddenly squawked. the "messiah" looked up and as if he's talking to raven...)
mysterious guy : shit... I got it.
angel : ...? (in a completely defeated situation... ~.~)
mysterious guy : you were just saved, onii-chan. (he has this staff like thing as his weapon... around the angel's neck) go back and tell your boss. tell him, "I'll be waiting for him on earth"---------
(michael glares at the phone angrily)
raphael : that can't be...! the messiah really did return in alexiel's body... and they had cautiously placed mudou setsuna's corpse on earth! [he's challenging mika-chan? what a mindless idiot...]
sara : [setsuna is...?] (that's right, she doesn't know that he died)
raphael : who is that guy...!?
michael (furiously crush the phone) : fuck that! we'll know when I go to earth and rip his head off! (leaving)
raphael (trying to stop him... in vain) : mika-chan!?
michael (vein, super pissed... considering his temper) : I don't give a fuck who he is, he is going to regret that he ever fucking messed with me! JUST YOU WAIT IN ASSIAH!!
(setsuna, the real one... has now entered mad hatter's domain...)
mad hatter (sitting on a chair in a room surrounded by doors) : welcome, the one neither angel nor human...! are you pleased with the reception of we, the empire of darkness?
setsuna (impatiently) : I don't have to play with you anymore! hand over kurai!!
mad hatter : yes... as for that... unfortunately the princess is currently missing...
setsuna : WHAT!?
mad hatter (snap fingers) : well, since I didn't really expect you to believe me, I'll take a hostage, messiah.
(arakune appears behind noise and is strangling her with his thread/string)
noise : AHH!!
setsuna (shock) : arakune!? s... stop it, what are you doing!
noise : WHA...!? (arakune ties her on a chair) y... you bastard... so you really... are working for this guy...!? aren't you the princess's cousin by blood!?

(owww... another shocking revelation coming this way... I can just see it in the near future...)
mad hatter : whoops... pardon me, that was suppose to be a secret... anyway returning to the subject, messiah... I shall play a game with you. (the room they are in is a perfect circle with no decorations except that chair... which makes it look like a cross section between dimensions... there are seven doors around the place) like I said before, the princess is not with me anymore. due to an accident, she had fallen into unknown space... but I do know that she is in the room behind one of those doors. the reason why I could not find the princess even when I called all my forces... must be that she had entered the province of one of the other satans besides myself. satan is the general term for all of the most powerful great demons of hell. and so the people who carries the seven deadly sins... I am... "pride". count of wealth mammon is "greed". the lord of flies beelzebub is "gluttony". the queen of darkness barbelo is "wrath"; dragon lord leviathan is "envy"...! the duke of fear astaroth is "sloth"... and the prince of judgment asmodeus is "lust"! (a roulette wheel appears on the ground...) from now on, you and I will choose which door to enter by the roulette. the first one to find the princess and saves her wins. aren't the rules simple?
setsuna (angrily) : what a joke, what kind of game takes hostages!! you talk all this bullshit while kurai's probably here right? you're not going to fool me again!!
mad hatter (cute sighing face) : guess I can't help it if you don't believe me. (turns the hourglass over noise's chair around so sand starts to fall) shall we turn on the time counter then, things will really get out of hand if you don't hurry. if you do not return before all the sand in the hourglass falls, hundreds of needles will automatically stab into noise's body. she will have a pitiful death.
setsuna : ASSHOLE!! (punch! but arakune blocks his punch... while mad hatter looks at him cold and unmoved)
mad hatter : you are out of time. because the princess is currently in the cage of very dangerous beasts... (oh, is that how she sees her other comrades ^^;;)
setsuna (trapped) : ......... I got it... turn the roulette.
noise (protesting) : messiah!?
setsuna (look at his marble on the roulette) : I am "lust"...! asmodeus... (wondering, remember, the word "lust" is written in english on the roulette) lust...? what does that mean...?
mad hatter (after she spins) : my door is the duke of fear... so it's astaroth-dono...? geez... (I think she knows what she'll have to deal with ^^)
voice : messiah!! what in the world...
setsuna (opening a door) : you have to believe in me...... I'll bring kurai back in one piece!! (then gives arakune a pretty cold glare)
mad hatter (image slowly dissolving) : then... have a pleasant journey...!
(door slams close, they are both gone with only noise and arakune left...)
text : ah... I've synchronized... with the aura of hell... what does this have to do with what the mad hatter said when she healed me...! my true identity before I was controlled by alexiel... before I was sealed as a cursed sword in heaven... before alexiel found me... who... the hell was I!?
kira (still in the room where setsuna's body is) : [hell... I will find out everything if I go there... I can just feel it...!! but, I can't just leaven setsuna's body here...]
(suddenly he hears some ruckus outside)
evil : the messiah!? that just can't be... his body is still lying right up there...
mysterious guy (so now he's in gehenna... *sigh*) : that's why I'm telling you that's an imposter, I'm the real thing, you'll see, alright?
evil : wait!!
mysterious guy : I've gotta check out that imposter's corpse so just leave it to me. (kira comes out to see what's going on)
evil : ...like hell we will!
mysterious guy : now, now, if you are gonna get in my way... (and he suddenly sees kira who came down stairs... and has this super shocked funny expression...) ki... (big hug) KIRA!! it's really you, (kira looks at this guy who's hugging him with a bit of a sweatdrop) senpai!!
kira (notices something, a bit surprised) : you are...
mysterious guy (to the evil, the typical "trying to BS my way through" look) : now you see, I have to go check on the imposter now, cya!
evil : but you...
(later inside the tower)
mysterious guy : heh----- can't believe he's really dead, this is just too funny------ hey, don't just stand there, got a light? (lights a cigarette as kira hands over the lighter with the same expression) what's with that look, I should be the one who's surprised here. I never would've thought you were a monster's companion. (smirky smile ^^;;)
kira (quietly) : you should've be dead. when setsuna killed you, I buried you in the schoolyard. katou.
(and the mysterious guy - katou rips off the skin layer on his face like it's a mask and reveals his real face... long time no see, nee ^^)
katou : I climbed back up here from the other side because I missed you so much. (*cough* you do know that he's being sarcastic right???) but I suppose I'm a monster now too, aren't I-------? (slight wicked smile)
(meanwhile... it's been a while since we last visited kurai and astaroth)
astarte (struggling on the ground) : ...run... quickly...! before... he comes out in the body... go...!
kurai (trauma...) : astarte... you... you two...!! astarte and astaroth are... the same person!?
astarte : to say that we are the same person is not entirely accurate... he and I only shares the same body... did you know? god loves to experiment... he manipulated various types of genes and created many different angels. but the one that god is most fascinated with is the bisexual legendary holy hermit adam kadmon who carries both the positive and negative power... however the only one that ever succeeded... was the serafuita...! (looks somewhat sad)
text : the experiment never succeeded a second time. the various methods he used only added to the number of physically and psychologically damaged creatures. yet he continued to experiment.
astarte : and there was... me and my brother's fused body... "astaroth"...!
(as a quick note... "astaroth" as it is spelled out in english, yuki sensei used it both for the male figure alone AND the combination, however there is a slight difference in the japanese readings, the fused body is called ASUTAROSU while the satan is ASUTAROTO which is also why we can say that astarte does not count as one of the seven satans because the katakana name of "astaroth" listed in the satans is the latter one, I dunno if anyone's confused about this but basically the author used 3 different names/pronunciations in japanese, and only 2 ways of writing it in english)
text : experiment, experiment ---------no one could stop god's insane work------- we were originally born as twins. afterwards my consciousness was planted into my brother's body.
astarte : of course that method failed... it is impossible for two minds to occupy one body.
text (younger looking astaroth standing in a really bloody background with a bloody hand holding an ax) : one body with two hearts... my brother's psyche began to degenerate. and that developed his sadistic trait and drove him into a bloody rampage... my brilliant brother hated the humiliation of sharing his body with my pathetic self.
astarte : ...no, perhaps just to keep his mind from breaking down... he needed to hate someone. and he cursed "god" more than anyone.
text (picture of a two headed snake) : after the fall, our lord lucifer-sama granted his wish. he cast a spell on us using a bisexual two headed serpent as the medium.
astarte : when astarte appears, astaroth's soul is sealed inside the black serpent... and when the body is astaroth, my mind is separated into the white serpent... (grabbing kurai by the wrist and leading her away)
kurai : ...u... um...! there's still something I don't understand... astaroth said that you can't have children... but then what's with the baby you had back then... [such a peaceful smile, I had felt the loving atmosphere around her...
astarte (stopping dead, back facing kurai, we don't see her face) : what are you talking about...? children...? I can't have children...!? you are coming back to me, aren't you...!! why are all the children who become my babies so disobedient... yes... that child was also the same... she didn't want to be my baby and tried to run away... but... look, you know just as well that I got her into my belly in the end, don't you...?
kurai (looks horrified) : a... astarte... it hurts... let go...!!
(but astarte's hand that was on her wrist started to transform... the skin went rough and the arm stretched really long)
astarte : you will become my baby too... (she has transformed into a giant serpent with a humanish face... the serpent that was lurking outside in the maze before... whom most people probably thought was astaroth) now... come to me, my baby...! (very frighteningly... kurai pushes herself free in horror)
kurai : NOOOO------------------ (running like crazy)
astarte : wait, my baby...! why are you running away...!?
kurai (on the run with a giant serpent after her) : [w... what is going on!! astarte's... she's probably even crazier than astaroth!! the girl that was with her before... don't tell me she ate her...!! and back then... she was still alive inside her stomach...! (even the idea disgusts me...) she was alive inside...!! (spring open doors, the next room looks like a dead end, the torture room astaroth was in before) the torture chamber...!! there's no where to go...!]
astarte (actually right behind kurai without her realizing it) : found you... (her facial feature is half human half snake-ish... but looks really scary >.<) hide and seek is over...!
kurai (grabs a random ax lying around the chamber) : *pant* *pant* (it'll be really weird if I wrote "haa, haa")
astarte : you do know that this is pointless right...? why!? I will really love you...!
kurai : [if the mad hatter lied to me... then I have to stop setsuna from drinking that potion...!! yes... and I have to help abaddon out of that underground cell...!] (scream at astarte forcefully) YOU STILL DON'T GET IT!? no matter how many people you eat, that child will never be yours! and plus I can't die yet!!
(astarte looks like she's about to attack kurai furiously when blood suddenly gushes out and splashes all over kurai... zoom out and we see that abaddon and arrived just in time to save kurai by piercing astarte's abdominal with his deadly tail)
kurai (big surprise) : you...! (jumps up and hugs him) abaddon... how did you... and your chains... (suddenly sees abaddon's bloody arm... his hand's been cut off) ! y... you...!! bit... off your hand...!! (crying) why...!! why did you do that...!! you damn idiot...!
astarte (struggling on the ground, now back to her human form but still dying) : my... baby... (and naked might I add... just for later reference) my baby... do you refuse me also...? onii-sama had forbidden me to appear in front of people or go outside... I've always been alone...! I've always... loved you for eternity... but... why...? (dying in a pool of blood, a stream of tears slowly slides down her cheeks) why...? onii-sama... ...
(kurai looks at her sadly and unsurely... when astarte said her last words... as if she has finally seen the true side of demons)

yukie's note : I love angel sanctuary because it never fails to touch me... astarte's death was one of those sad moments that I almost wish I could've done something about... sadly though, if she didn't die, we'll never see the touching side of their relationship because astaroth will continue to hate and detest astarte... I also love the jahannam arc because most of the people I feel sad for... the twins, belial, asmodeus... they are all here... and lucifer too... as strange as it may sound... I look at him with sadness too... and of course the major one not in the jahannam arc would be zaphkiel... but we'll get to that later ^^

(this chapters cover features a rather strange looking woman, she looks like a person/humanoid... but for some reason, she just doesn't look that human to me... and she has butterfly wings... yes... looks more like a butterfly somehow... but you should realize by now that this is belial, even if you didn't see the tattoo on her leg that's half covered, in the background is a guy... whose face is not clearly shown... but this all relates to the rest of the chapter and these text that also is on the cover ^^)
text : I prayed to see you again so badly, my affection continues endlessly like a curse. that's the only reason I exist for. the world can be destroyed if only the two of us can be together. the hateful one, the cruel one... whom I love with insanity...
a man (place a hand on the butterfly tattoo, it's pretty obvious that this scene came from belial's past) : I love you. none of the other women matters, you are the only one that I truly desire.
belial (putting on earrings) : I know.
text : if this is what they call love... yet it is also so innocently naïve.
belial (only sees her smile slightly) : -----------and what is that?

kurai (looks at her sadly) : [astarte... so she is a frightening demon and her expression of love is wrong too...] (to abaddon) ...let's go, abaddon... [but... if anyone had... yes, if her brother had loved her... we didn't like god to begin with, but he is even more insane than we had thought! perhaps demons have a reason to be demons. somehow that's just so strange. god drives angels to insanity------------]
(glance at astarte before she leaves... astarte now dead has a very peaceful, calm and beautiful expression... some time later... the dead comes back to life! well, not really, if you notice... very obvious since he's naked... that this is a guy, so it's not astarte but astaroth...)
astaroth (getting up) : uh...! damn...!! how dare... (suddenly sees himself) ! (realize he's still in one piece) no wounds...?
(mad hatter appears... and threw him a jacket/shirt)
mad hatter : ...she used her last strength to break the spell and separated the serpent's body.
astaroth (surprise) : belial...!
(belial/mad hatter appears, this time dressed like a european nobleman, even with the cane ^^ she points to a bloody white snake on the ground... it's not only lying in a pool of blood, but on that blood covered spot, there are also some weird magic symbols)
mad hatter : see for yourself. although she knew that breaking the spell would lead to her own death, but in order to protect you...
astaroth (look at the snake with wide eyes) : foolish woman...! I don't feel sorry for her death...
mad hatter (take her hat off in a gesture of respecting the dead) : then why haven't you used your demonic powers to separate from her until now? you should've been able to with your power...
astaroth (man he really is lazy... didn't even stand up yet) : shut up!! what do you know, for someone who chooses to become a freak by free will! you only see the surface of other people's hearts! you brought back that little bride didn't you!? but that's just too bad. she ran away with prince abaddon. although he's rather pathetic in nature, he is still the demon lord's child. he has that fierce tail that took out astarte with one blow...! plus the ability to take the life of those who see him in an instant...!! as long as she is with him, you won't even get near the princess. (laughing rather pleased) and the princess won't believe you anymore, because I had told her everything. that the resurrection potion is a fake... and what a dirty crook you are!! (he's so damn happy ~.~ and belial decides to go with no expression) so! that girl won't return to you anymore!! will you have the lord hold the wedding alone... or will you become the bride!? that is if you can qualify! (! how mean! ^^;;; anyway... he's really pleased with what he did though...) hahaha....! (laughing like he's enjoying this, and belial, without much expression, throws something at him. it missed astaroth but is pinned to the ground... and it's an invitation envelop... wow! she threw it damn hard if it's stuck in the ground like a knife)
mad hatter : that is the invitation to the wedding. please show up fully dressed, or else you'd catch a cold like that. then you will surely see princess kurai standing beautifully next to the demon lord. because I have a joker. (she means trump card, before she leaves) I'll leave you to mourn for your sister.
(and closes the door on astaroth... who doesn't say a thing but stare at the floor... and there were two streams... tears of blood, flowing down his cheek and falls on the invitation... me: *sob* *sob* ..... meanwhile the sand is dropping... setsuna where are you!!?)
noise : [messiah... hurry and bring back the princess...! messiah!!]
(as setsuna has crossed into the realm of asmodeus, he first sees this rich, european estate)
setsuna : [this is the manor of satan asmodeus...? a strange song... is it a bird...? no... it sounds like a woman's laughter...]
(and so he follows the sound and goes to one part of the huge garden... where there's something that looks somewhat like a huge cage... and on the big stand where there'd usually be a bird, there was a naked woman sitting there... of course she's not entirely human, some sort of butterfly demon cuz she's got butterfly wings... and there was another guy who was kissing her... I hope you've realized that this is "lust" asmodeus ^^)
asmodeus : laugh once more for me, your voice enchants me... although you are an important tribute to my lord... you wouldn't have captured my heart also if you weren't so beautiful...! I love you... (kissing her foot)
setsuna (hiding in the bushes, looking really embarrassed) : [w... what the hell is this!? this freaky mood... (I think it's freaking him out ^^;;;; words in the background say "queen-sama?" I guess he's a little confused there...) t... that guy is asmodeus...? w... well, whatever. as long as I get that weird nee-chan... (sees there an invitation envelop on the table near by, with a letter opener knife on it) as my hostage. I don't have much time...]
(grab knife, suddenly jump out, and grab the butterfly woman, putting the knife to her neck)
setsuna : don't move! asmodeus! do as I say if you don't want to see your dear pet dead!
butterfly woman : *shrieking sound* (I dun think she can talk)
asmodeus (seems quite calm for a guy who just saw someone jump out and take his woman hostage) : how did you get in here? it's not that simple to enter into my province.
(by the way he's a middle aged man... by that I mean... 40s??? unlike astaroth say... who looks like he's 20... I wonder how angels age *sigh*... anyway, I dun think he's REALLY older or something... it depends on when they stop the aging process??? anyway, I have no clue... belial looks rather young too... so does barbelo... both mid 20s, leviathan and beezulbub doesn't even come out T.T and mammon... well, he doesn't look human to begin with so forget it... right... asmodeus is dress like those european nobles... obviously not the bishounen type but I like him too ^^)
setsuna : I'm the one asking questions here! now I want to know about the girl who was brought here to be the demon lord's bride! you answer me truthfully or her head will be gone!
asmodeus (calmly) : how troublesome. I sacrificed quite a number of my servants to obtain her from another demon. and by the way who might you be?
setsuna : beat me first if you want to know my name! now answer me!
asmodeus (slight smile) : I see... then, it can't be helped.
(quite suddenly he stabbed one end of his cane easily and effortlessly through the butterfly woman and into setsuna... and setsuna looks shocked...)
kira (in gehenna) : [setsuna...!?]
(blood drips, asmodeus pulls his cane out and setsuna falls...)
setsuna : w... why... you killed her so you could...? you said... you loved her...! (glares up at asmodeus in pain and anger)
asmodeus (lighting a cigar still so calmly) : I lose interest in her when she's in my way. she's not the one I really want. there is only one butterfly I want in the world. her body forbidden to all and her heart forever locked. (a faint sketch in the background of a woman... and a butterfly ^^) so cruel and so proud... more lustful than anyone and more sacred than everyone. now, I believe the poison on the blade should be taking effect, (yes there was a blade on the cane) it's a pity to kill you for you're also such a beauty. I suppose I'll add you to my collection. (and guess what! he has a butterfly collection... or something of that nature... anyway, with a slightly evil look in his eyes, just some proof that he is a satan) I'll break your legs and chain you by the throat to prevent you from running away... then I shall love you until I become tired of you. after you die, I'll put your corpse into a glass case and pin up your wings so you become my decoration along with the others. (grab setsuna's arm) don't you think it's such an honor... come...
(but as he is off-guard, setsuna calls forth the nanatsusaya and stabs asmodeus in the shoulder)

(now the situation is reversed... >.< asmodeus is getting pinned to the ground with setsuna on top *sigh*)
setsuna : you were careless, hentai oyaji! (sick old man ^^) too bad but your attack earlier was blocked by the stone on this sword and I wasn't hurt at all. I usually hang it as a pendant around my neck!

asmodeus : you are...! I see... that sword...! that sword's master... the messiah who came to hell, alexiel...!
setsuna (very seriously) : and you are wrong. no matter how many people you capture, it will never be enough. no matter how many you chain... how many you bind, or lock their corpses into a glass case, it's useless! that's not what you really want, right?
asmodeus (still calmly smoking his cigar... >.<) : ...... are you preaching to a demon, what a strange angel. but the view's not bad. (this is so sad... but from his point of view... he does get a pretty good look at alexiel's very sexy body T.T and setsuna is... ~.~) would you be my lover? (his hands are now feeling alexiel/setsuna's butt) nice ass.
(T.T how sad... setsuna just turned more pale than ever... with a lot of sweatdrops... I think he froze for 2 seconds in shock... then with this really, really funny angry face... he yells in total fury while returning really red)

(show his 3 wings) when I was disappearing in hades, this guy here fed me his feather and revived me to become one of his lineage. so with this astral something crap, I have three wings now too. only I can become his shadow in this world. (like substitute... or replacement... of that sort, anyway... then he looks at kira with a really funny face and glare accusingly) ...kira? hey you... have you been listening to what I'm saying? (vein) [and I flashed out my wings too]
kira (seems troubled...) : setsuna... [darkness... darkness is approaching...!] setsuna is in danger...!
katou (smoking) : eh? how the hell do you know? [I spent a long time explaining that stuff---.]
kira : katou, you are...! (look at him seriously) with setsuna, aren't you...!?
katou : ...... well, I guess.

(arakune on the cover... after all this IS his chapter... quite a few shocking revelations I must say ^^ the sand in the hourglass is falling... and setsuna has not returned yet)
arakune (communicating through the earring) : yes... the messiah ha s not returned yet. ...oh really? I understand. I'll head over right now. (ends communication, to noise who's tied up on the chair) sorry but it looks like your assurance is not here. I have to go so if you'll excuse me.
noise (angrily) : ...you traitor...! do you have no shame!! (suddenly... I suppose the time's here... that all the spikes in the chair are about to come out cuz a lot of holes opened up) !
arakune (casually as noise looks really scared) : just a bit longer until the sand all falls. then the needles will shoots out from these holes.
noise : ah...!
arakune : don't expect anyone to come save you. this is hell! no one knows what's happening here...
noise (in a tight pinch) : [this... this is it...! oh no...!! I... am going to die here...!!]
arakune (coldly and darkly) : ......... what happened to your vigor from earlier? didn't you come here to avenge voice? (holds up one finger, with voice's ring on it) you do recognize this don't you?
noise : ! [that was mother's relic that I gave voice that day...!!] I knew it...! you're the one who killed voice!! (in tears)
arakune (very evil smile) : do you hate me? do you want to kill me? ...but that's simply impossible for you... voice and you both said that you wanted to protect what was important to you... but what happened in reality? (noise is crying but with an angry/fierce look) if you really want revenge, then be prepared to bring it to your grave in mad obsession! (leaving) you really do bore me, how pathetic, you and voice! you talk big but you can't do anything on your own. you can't even get this one little ring back.
noise : SHUT UP!! (arakune turns around with a dangerous look) you have no right to insult voice! just you watch...! I will definitely become stronger... even if I die, I'll make sure I take you with me!! (arakune has a VERY dangerous look) kurai-sama is the only true lord of the evils! a damn bastard like you will never become the dragon master!
(a faint scene flashes by... someone's half dead on the ground... and looking up in horror and disbelief)

(the last grain of sand falls... and the needles were about to stab out... noise screams... and suddenly a flying dagger breaks through the hourglass and stabs into her shoulder... the needled stopped...)

(it took great effort from noise but she managed to grab the dagger with her teeth and pulled it out from her shoulder...meanwhile... asmodeus pushes open some curtains slightly and in his usual tone...)
asmodeus : may I hold you? (what he gets is having a random vase chucked at him... which misses easily)
setsuna (angrily, in a pretty dress ^^) : didn't I tell you not to peek--------!? this is not the time for dress ups!! now, I put it on already, you old geezer! (he called him "asumo no o-san" ^^;;;;)
asmodeus (in this self absorbed speech ^^ and little pointy devil ears) : I'm not an old geezer. I am the romance gray, gallant and decadent gentleman asmodeus. the dandy duke lord who has agreed to smuggle you into the wedding ceremony disguised as the tribute. kurai : [what should I do... no matter which way I go, I can't get back to anagura. if that promise is voided, then I must get to setsuna as soon as possible... of course I can't really ask the mad hatter...! I was so stupid to have only realized now that she lied to me. I... I really wanted to believe her from deep inside my heart. (looks depressed) what can I do now... if only... someone will come help me now. what kinda stupid dream is that. someone...! anyone please help me... someone who will protect me...]
(a person shows up in the distance... comes closer and kurai looks up in disbelief... arakune with a very dark, serious look on his face, though kurai didn't notice at all...)
kurai : [a...] (wide eyes) ARAKUNE--------!! [I thought this was a dream. (happily getting off abaddon) deep down in the core of earth...] (happily running towards him) arakune...
(but arakune suddenly attacks her... with a thread... she's coughing blood, while arakune still looks so cold and calm. abaddon roars, kurai falls to the ground)
kurai : [is this... a dream? it can't be...] (looking up in shock as blood drips down the corner of her mouth)
abaddon : *roar* (in pain after he got hit by arakune)
arakune (calmly) : prince abaddon, your powers have no effect on me. (thread stabbed into his leg) and you spent a few thousand years trapped in an underground cell, it's obvious that your legs are your weakness. (carries kurai and puts a drugged handkerchief over her mouth) how pitiful, the one came for you was not the prince that you were waiting for. now why don't I tell you a bed time story.
kurai (struggle in vain) : uh...!
arakune : once upon a time, there was a kingdom that worshipped dragon gods that was expecting the birth of the next dragon master.

(goes into a flashback... of a dark hair boy... he looks like noise/voice's age)

(in the garden, the prince sees an old man - the king, playing around with a little kid happily and lovingly)
prince : [!] (a bit shocked) who... is that kid?

(then the prince was also hit in the back... when a group of evils from the palace/government was surveying the aftermath...)
evil 1 : is it really true that assassins from the angel forces attacked the princes?
evil 2 : however the lord's plans had succeeded completely, it seems like no one knew that princess kurai was the real dragon master. even the prince became the substitute to protect the princess trustingly.
evil 1 : how cruel even if it was for the sake of the kingdom.
evil 2 (looks at the seemingly half dead prince) : he looks like he might still be alive, let's torch this place to keep the secret safe. come on. (after they leave, kai gets up from the ruins and looks at the prince in shock)

(this was the tragedy in the midst of blood, fury, flames and chaos... the prince gazes violently at the dead body of kai...)
voice (suddenly out of nowhere) : ~the scent of blood... the extreme love and hatred, the persistence for life and power that becomes our nourishment. those that summon us from the darkness deeper than night.~
(someone appears... face is all shadows out... but still looks extremely resembling to belial ^^)

(she appears riding on a big spider looking demon/monster)
text : with the help of that great demon, I killed arakune, the son of the queen's older sister who married to a faraway land, and became him. of course everyone who knew the secret was killed. I grew out my hair and put on makeup to hide my face, playing this role and pretending to be your friend as I waited for the time of my revenge...
arakune : and to realize my vengeance on the kingdom, I leaked information to the angels that led to the destruction of the nation. ...i was really so glad to see you in that cave. I can use you to get the trust of the remaining people and then I will really become the king. (opens his shirt and shows kurai the goat mark) here... you see that? it's the reason why I'm in one piece after laying eyes on prince abaddon. this is the mark of loyalty to the demon lord...!
(kurai... though barely able to move and half dazed... has a really sad expression in her eyes... and she's crying)
arakune : ...are you crying? for who's sake? for yourself? look, someone has come for you. (before them, at the door, the mad hatter stood, with a half smile on her face) farewell, kurai... forever.
(setsuna has finally returned to the dimension where noise was kept... apparently a little too late)
setsuna (look at the empty chair in shock) : no one's here... arakune, mad hatter or noise...!! (sees the broken restraints) [noise... could she have escaped on her own...? but she must be hurt...!!]
asmodeus (on the other side of this portal he opened) : we have to go now. belial will notice if we stay here any longer.
setsuna : ...yeah, I gotcha. (suddenly he looks around surprised as a lot of weird echoes sound from all around them) what's this? echoes? chanting...?
asmodeus (laugh) : hahah... that's the cries of the demons who have crawled out from the bottom of the earth and now gathered here on the surface. all of the people who dwells in darkness have come offer the demon lord their cursed blessings. (abstract images of demons)
setsuna (determinedly) : [kurai!! just wait for me, stupid girl.]
(more abstract sketches of the palace, throne, demons... a few close ups that if you look close enough, you will find at least a half shaded image of barbelo)
text : gather here, cursed ones. the angels of darkness who condemns the world. (on the throne is a really shaded picture of lucifer) the sabbat has begun.
(in heaven... raphael and sara are sitting michael's plane... flying air craft whatever... I'm a little allergic to the word "plane" at this point... or anything that's flying...)
sara (upset) : somehow... I just have a weird feeling about this...!
raphael (plainly) : me too.
michael : what's with you guys! stop whining already! what are you complaining about when you begged to come with me!?
pilot : positioned above assiah. target located.
michael (heading for the door) : I'm going down!
(katou is in setsuna look again, smoking a cigarette, sitting there with setsuna's real body next to him and the raven)
katou : hm? so they're here... (a close up on the raven... with a very serious expression... x.x if you can imagine a bird with an expression... T.T)
(in a big ball of light, the three lands... with michael pointing a finger at katou accusingly and raphael helping sara along)
michael : so you're the one...? you're fake stupid ass messiah who dares to challenge me? you better prepare yourself!
sara : wait...! that guy... is not setsuna...! (she's only doing this from her feelings)
raphael (helping her along since she's technically blind) : I think so too.
michael (ready to blast an energy ball already T.T) : I dun give a fuck!! go to hell! (the raven suddenly squawks and raphael tried to stop michael at the same time)
raphael : wait!! mika-can...! look at that raven...!
(the raven turned into a big black ball of energy... and when all the smoke has cleared... michael looks surprised as he sees one of their long gone companions)
uriel : you really haven't changed at all... the guardian angel of fire, michael...
raphael (looks at the sky with dark feathers falling...) : as I had thought. it really has been a few hundred years since the four great angels last gathered in one place; guardian of earth, death angel uriel.
(the raven has turned into uriel with his wings fully spread, holding his scythe, standing between katou and michael... katou has returned to his usual look)

I will spend the rest of my life making those people who rejoiced in the other parts of the world last night suffer ten times as much as I had.

raphael (pretty calm about this whole thing) : ------and? you got us here because you have something to say right? (while holding mika-chan by the collar with a funny face so he doesn't go charging towards uriel) [mika-chan, your height difference will be really apparent if you go up to a giant like that.] (yeah... mika-chan is... kinda short... ok... really short. and uriel... is really tall ~.~) is that the messiah's corpse behind you? uriel.

("alexiel" does not move... like she really became a stuffing... no, not mincemeat T.T I can't believe I looked up stuffing in the thesaurus in search of a better word and it gave me "mincemeat"... the ceiling right above the cage suddenly began to collapse... as a huge monster popped in)
mad hatter (looking up in shock) : prince abaddon!!?
demons (abaddon takes a step, totally crushing "alexiel" under his foot) : that's...!! prince abaddon who has the power to take the life of all those who see him!? (scrambling... running, a total mess... though in the current state that I'm in, I don't find the destruction of buildings amusing at all... I think my mentality will be forever changed with I translate stuff like X) isn't he in captivity......!?
asmodeus (laughing really delightedly) : hahaha, what an amusing feast this has become!!
mammon (wailing in the background as rocks fall on him) : [wahhh]
astaroth (looks totally uninterested, get up from his seat) : how pointless, these stupid commotions. I'm going back. (everyone, start sobbing now, because this is the last you'll see of astaroth -.- my favorite psycho)
kurai (the jester has just grabbed her and she's trying to get away) : setsuna!!! setsuna!! (trying to go help setsuna I guess, but what could she do? he's totally crushed) let go!!
jester : it seems like the injuries are driving him wild!! it's too dangerous here, princess.
(arakune seems surprised to see noise, and kicks her weapon - a sword away from her...)
noise : *panting* (leaning against a wall, she's obviously no match for arakune)
arakune : what's with you...! you've made it this far and endured so much... (laugh) but you fall apart now. alright... in respect for your dedication to your brother, I will kill you with the highest magic. (holds up the earrings) the true dragon master's attack. (earrings starts to glow)
noise (getting up) : heh... it's not working is it...? (accusingly) you are a traitor to the royal family whose hands are stained in blood from your desire! do you think those high and proud guardian dragons will acknowledge your filthy soul!?
arakune (holds up the earrings) : silence!! come to me, dragon gods!!
noise (running up, attack) : it doesn't matter who and what you really are...! but we were once friends... (angry, fierce eyes) and I won't forgive you for betraying that trust!!
(stabs with the dagger she had... arakune looked at her with a really shocked look... in a second she saw voice, holding the dagger together with noise, with the same accusing fierce glare)

(the whole place is falling... omg, I'm so sensitive to falling structures right now...)
demons : the earth is shaking!! the palace is gonna collapse! it's worse than ever before!!
(noise looks surprised.... since she actually succeeded in stabbing the knife into arakune's chest)
noise : why... did you not summon the dragon gods...
arakune (slight smile) : how rude...! of course I tried... but... you were right, I ...just... can't do it! I knew... that kurai was the only sacred dragon master...! father's judgment has proven to be correct...! (smiling... actually in relief and understanding...) and... I've always... been watching her...! (the place tumbling down) ...as for killing voice... I was afraid. back then... he had the same eyes as kai... those righteous eyes... that saw clearly through my true pathetic self... the same eyes you had before...! (noise looks surprised, as arakune throws the earring and voice's ring at her) you win. take that back... it's... from voice. the moon pearl ring that glows with a trace of light... and those earrings... hand those to kurai. and from now on, you'll protect kurai in my place. do not let her out of your sight ever...! (a slight twisted smile) that kid... will cry if I'm not there with her anymore...!
noise (really disturbed) : arakune-sama... you broke that hourglass and threw the knife... to help me right...?
(arakune looked at her with an unreadable expression, but definitely calm, at peace. and actually kinda masculine looking in this frame... then almost immediately, the part of the floor where he's sitting on collapsed into a big pit)
text (noise looking sad) : that was just like the usual arakune-sama...! the usual arakune-sama who loved the princess...! (a sketch of arakune embracing kurai)
kurai (yelling) : abaddon...! calm down, abaddon...!! it's me...! (blood spills) the blood... you're still bleeding, that's enough...!! THAT'S ENOUGH, ABADDON!!
(in abaddon's rampage, he knocked into the demon lord's thrown... and lucifer was sitting on his throne unmoved... when the throne fell over, he fell with it and started to crack as well, like a stone statue)
kurai : [the demon lord is......!!?] (in her surprise, she didn't watch where's going and slipped) ah...
jester (as kurai is falling down the bottomless pit with all the rocks etc) : princess...! (grabs kurai's hand and they both fall together)
mad hatter (scream worriedly in the midst of all the collapsing structure) : princess!! [this can't be happening...!]
(then a sword... a black sword, the nanatsusaya stabs into the wall/cliff of the giant pit that had formed)
text : it can't be happening...!!
kurai (and the jester has steadied themselves, hanging off the sword) : *panting* (the jester has taken off his mask, and guess who it is -.- well, who do you expect that uses the nanatsusaya... him and kurai are barely hanging off the wall, supported by one sword and one arm grabbing the sword... since he's holding kurai in the other arm...)
setsuna : I believe the bride recovery plan has worked, but now it does become a problem as to how to get down.
kurai (open eyes... and realize in shock that this is setsuna...) : s... SETSUNA!!?
setsuna (funny face) : that's right, earlier I was that asmo old geezer's collection!
kurai : then... then that potion...
setsuna (optimistic as always) : yep, something happened and I didn't get to drink it because the bottle broke! that's why I say my stupid girl don't have to be married off now. and I basically got that bone head to take me here to get you.
text : I don't believe this...
setsuna : man I sure went through some troubles to get here! shall we go back together? kurai...
text : setsuna... he really... really came this far for me...! what should I do, after all... after all I... (hugging setsuna tightly)
kurai : y... yes...! (crying happily/gratefully)
text : only want to be with setsuna...!!
kurai : setsuna!! WAHHHH (break out crying... but that also makes setsuna not able to hold on T.T)
setsuna (vein) : wah!! idiot! [calm down!!] (trying to hang on to the sword) stop, this sword in the wall is the only thing that's holding us up here!!
(strange echo comes from the bottom of the pit...)
setsuna (and kurai both look around unsurely) : ...what the hell? these... voices that comes from bottom of darkness... is this the sick ode they played during the ceremony before...?
kurai (looking around) : !
setsuna : but why does it feel like it's coming from all around us...?
kurai (looks quite scared...) : setsuna... this... is not a wall...!!
(flip of page, the last page in this volume is a full page image of the wall they were hanging off from... zoomed out so that setsuna and kurai appears rather small... and the entire wall is a complex, detailed beautifully crafted and intricate wall carving... a giant wall carving of someone's face... with some artistic decorations etc, but in short, it's a giant statue/carving of SOMEONE's face... setsuna and kurai put together are slightly bigger than one of his eyes, just to give you an idea of the sizing)
kurai : t... this wall carving thing... looks like sakuya's face...

yukie's note : I would've screamed if I didn't have volume 11 with me at this point... fortunately, I did ^^ I don't know how lucky I was to have bought vol 10 and 11 together (usually I buy them one by one the moment they come out) but for those of you sitting there waiting for the translations... I'm sure you understand ^^ a lot of stuff has also been going on in my life, but I have decided not to bring that into the network anymore simply because I doubt many people will understand anyway.
